Karo Akpokiere "The Line Cult" Wooden iPhone Case
A limited edition collection of wooden iPhone 4 cases by Love Through Design in collaboration with Haydanhuya and artists - in aid of WWF projects.
'The Line Cult' is designed by Nigerian artist Karo Akpokiere.
Each case is made from one solid block of sustainable linden wood that has been carved and sanded in Istanbul; the intricate design by each artist is then carefully etched by brilliant laser cutters and engravers based in London. Each line, curve and dot is etched with love into the case - making each piece not only a one-off piece of art, but a labour of love.
The case is lined with soft felt that hugs the iPhone and prevents the screen from scratches. Micro magnets make it easy to open and close the case and an additional leather strap locks the phone firm in its place. Each edition comes in its own beautiful wooden box by Love Through Design.
Wooden iPhone case dimensions:
8cm x 2.8cm x 12.8
Love Through Design wooden box dimensions:
17.6 cm x 6.7cm x 10cm
The collection of iPhone cases is created to support WWF activities to protect endangered wildlife and environments, tackle climate change and promote sustainable use of resources. From steamy tropical rainforests to dreamy English chalk streams, they work on every continent to halt and wherever possible reverse dramatic declines in wildlife species and the destruction of the places where they live. For every iPhone case purchased you will help us to save 250 trees in the Amazon rainforest.
Karo Akpokiere loves to draw and is interested in how drawings can be applied to different surfaces as a way to make them accessible and visible, facilitating connections with and inspiring people in the process. The drawings he makes are created using traditional and/or digital processes and are indicative of his desire to combine different ‘cultural’ elements in order to create art that is universally appealing.
